Since 1978
Nearly five decades designing for West Africa.
From a small Freetown practice to a firm operating across three countries — the story of Jarrett-Yaskey, Garber & Associates.
Our Story
JYGA — Jarrett-Yaskey, Garber & Associates — was founded in 1978 as Jarrett-Yaskey & Partners, a chartered architectural practice based in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
The firm's structure has always been built around a single idea: a comprehensive in-house service covering planning, design, project management and site supervision, rather than handing work off in pieces. That structure let the practice take on feasibility studies across a wide range of project types, and provide expert evidence in cases of arbitration and legal disputes — work that requires the same rigour as design itself.
Today the practice is registered to deliver work for the World Bank, the African Development Bank, the EU and UN agencies, and operates a second registered office in Botswana under the name DMD-Mosaic Architects, alongside a presence in Liberia through the Pan African Engineering Group.

How We Work
Full-service, in-house.
The firm utilises in-house consultants as well as associated practices to undertake multi-disciplinary projects, so a single point of contact can carry a project from brief to completion certificate.
